Tyranny of Dragons - Character Bio : Dafnae

Hello and Welcome!

Dafnae is one of the Heroes in our Tyranny of Dragons game. Let's learn a little bit about her!

She is a High Elf from Baldur's Gate with an urchin Background. 

Growing up on the streets of Baldur's Gate after being orphaned at a yound age, she had to make ends meet any way that she could by sticking to the shadows and learning thievery skills (stealth, deception, lock picking) she was able to make a living for herself. 

Her skills were were spotted by members of the Shadow Thieves Guid where they trained her in the proper use of her skills and fashioned her into the skilled Rogue that she is today. They also taught her the was of Elves - language and customs - so that she could not only hide in the shadows but also hide in plain site if she was in amongst a more affluent crowd.

Through her training she became adept at the Hand Crossbow and has started off the adventure with the Crossbow Expert Feat.

Her nature is Good at heart so that she sees the value in helping those less fortunate but is not against doing things out of the ordinary if necessary so her goodness can be a bit Chaotic at times.

Within the Shadow Thieves Guild many become followers of Tymora, that Goddess of Good Fortune so she knows the customs quite well and it never hurts to repay her for her many blessings because one cannot be ingracious when it comes to Luck. 

Within the Guild she became good friends with the Half-Elf Talis Kesterel and looked out for each other within Baldur's Gate. As they grew, their bond became strong even after Talis decided to seek adventure in the countryside outside of Baldur's Gateand they maintained in close contact through the many network of connections within the Guild that reaches far and wide and even developed their own variation of Thieves Cant, a sort of Code within a Code, so that they can communicate with each other and still maintain their privacy.

But it had been a while since she Dafnae last heard from Talis. The last communique from was that she was making a life for herself in a small town called Greenest. Some of her most recent communiques were a bit unusual as they were referencing activity from the Cult of Dragons. This was most strange as this Cult was usually referred to in old myths and legends and to scare children to behave. These messages worried her and combined with other whispers amongst the Shadow Thieves Guild members, there appeared indeed to be some activity in the area with these strange Cultist.

Dafnae is worried about her friend that she may have had a bad run in with these Cultists and so she set out with a merchant caravan troupe from Baldur's Gate headed for Greenest to find out for herself to learn what befell her close friend.

So these early days of the Adventures in Greenest added merit to her concern as there clearly was activity. As they would come up to others of Elvish ancestry she would inquire carefully about any knowledge they may have had about her but so far to no avail.

Dafnae therefore continues on this quest to not only help those in need but also to find her dear friend. 

She noticed that the Bard who was one of the captives is also a follower of Tymore.

Now at level 3, she has taken the Archetype of Arcane Trickster. Her Elvish background aligns her with some magical traits so this was a clear choice for her.  She hopes to use her Mage Hand to get the upper hand where needed.

We'll see how she evolves through the adventure and if she can find her friend!
