The Monster Warband Starter Sets are hand-curated groups of five miniatures — one boss creature and four supporting minions — selected from our wide range of independent sculptors and themed around a single monster type. Choose your warband from the variant dropdown and we'll hand-pick a cohesive set that feels lore-appropriate and table-ready.

Each warband is built around D&D encounter logic: a commanding focal creature backed by minions that complement its strengths. Whether you're running a psychic horror through the Underdark, a blight-ridden forest ambush, or an infernal shakedown in a back-alley temple, there's a set shaped for your session. Note: the example creatures listed below are representative only — specific miniatures are hand-selected each time, so your warband may vary within the theme.

🐺 Beast Warband – "Alpha's Hunt" (example only — selected items may differ)

Theme: A starving predator pack encroaching on civilisation.
Encounter Hook: The party is escorting a merchant convoy through the Thornwood when the horses go quiet — moments before a massive grey shape steps into the road ahead, flanked by eyes gleaming in the treeline on both sides.

🧠 Aberration Warband – "Whispers Below" (example only — selected items may differ)

• 1x Mind Flayer (Boss)
• 2x Intellect Devourers
• 2x Grimlocks

Theme: Psychic horror and underground manipulation.
Encounter Hook: Three villagers have returned from a mining expedition acting… wrong — finishing each other's sentences, flinching at bright light, and asking where the party came from with an unsettling uniformity of tone.

🛡️ Goblinoid Warband – "Iron Legion Scouts" (example only — selected items may differ)

Theme: Military precision and tactical combat.
Encounter Hook: The party intercepts a scout unit mapping the road to Harrowmere — and the coded cipher scroll they carry suggests this was no casual patrol.

👹 Fiend Warband – "Infernal Retinue" (example only — selected items may differ)

Theme: A contract enforcer and its infernal entourage.
Encounter Hook: A desperate noble has hired the party to retrieve a signed contract before midnight — but the devil holding it has already arrived at the meeting point, and it didn't come alone.

Theme: A colossus and its brutish court descending from the high peaks.
Encounter Hook: A mountain pass that has been clear for decades is now blocked — not by avalanche, but by a camp of enormous figures who are demanding a toll in gold, livestock, and one member of whatever group passes through next.
