What's an encounter tracker?
What's an encounter tracker?
Combat in D&D asks a lot of a DM at once. You're rolling initiative and keeping the order straight, tracking hit points for a room full of creatures, remembering that the ranger is poisoned for two more rounds, watching whether the wizard's concentration survives a hit, keeping count of the dragon's legendary actions — and, somewhere underneath all that, actually describing the fight and keeping your players in it.
An encounter tracker takes the bookkeeping off you so you can spend your attention on the game.
Why use ours?
It's ready in seconds. Open the page and start. No sign-up, no install, no subscription.
It knows the monsters already. Over 3,500 stat blocks and 3,300 spells from the SRD and open-licence sources are built in, searchable, and viewable right next to the fight. Supports both the 2014 and 2024 rules.
It tracks the fiddly things for you. Conditions count down and expire on their own. Concentration prompts the save with the right DC when a caster takes damage. Death saves, legendary actions, lair actions, recharge abilities, spell slots — all handled, so you stop forgetting them mid-fight.
It's built for real tables. Eight goblins collapse into one line instead of eight. Area damage applies to everyone you select at once. Defeated creatures can be hidden so you're not scrolling past corpses. Pressed the wrong button? Undo goes back twenty steps.
It helps you prep, too. Set your party once and it shows you live difficulty thresholds — and if you can't decide what to throw at them tonight, the random encounter generator will roll something appropriate to your party's actual level.
Your data stays yours. Everything lives in your own browser. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, nothing uploaded. After the first load it works with no internet at all — handy in cellars, village halls, and anywhere the wifi is a rumour.
And a nice touch for painters: you can attach a photo of your own painted miniature to any monster, so the card on screen shows the model that's actually on the table.
What it isn't
It's not a virtual tabletop, a character-sheet manager, or a campaign wiki. It does one job — running the fight at your table — and tries to do that really well.
