This is the Zombie Beholder 01 from Novaminis — the first sculpt in their undead Eye Tyrant range — and it is a deeply unsettling piece of work. Where a living Beholder radiates calculated cruelty, this rotting aberration communicates something far worse: blind, shambling hunger. The eye stalks are withered and bone-dry, several snapped down to knuckled stumps, while the enormous central eye socket is sunken and glazed with decay. The bloated, pock-marked body is split by a maw full of jagged, uneven teeth, and tiny crossbow bolts — remnants of a past ambush that clearly went badly for the adventurers who attempted it — are still lodged in the flesh. The sculpt has been rendered in a beautifully grotesque style, with every surface telling the story of a creature that has been dead for some time and refuses to acknowledge it.
This is pose 01 of the Zombie Beholder range — a frontal, slightly tilted floating pose that puts the ruined eye and gaping mouth front and centre. Excellent from multiple angles, with real detail across the entire body.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want a boss-tier undead aberration to anchor a Underdark or necromancy-themed arc
- Are building a lich's retinue of reanimated servants — something has been maintaining these things
- Need a Beholder variant that signals something has gone catastrophically wrong in the dungeon
- Collect aberrations or undead for display shelves and dioramas
Encounter Hook:
The party descends into the lower vaults expecting to face the ancient Beholder that drove the dwarves out a century ago — only to find it still here, still floating, still turning its ruined eye upon them, the crossbow bolts of previous explorers embedded in its rotting hide like grim trophies. It does not speak. It does not gloat. It simply drifts closer.
Scaled to 32mm and supplied unpainted, ready for priming and painting. Available with or without a plain black base — the base ships unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. As with all hand-finished prints, minor imperfections or residual support marks are possible; these are straightforward to clean up before painting.
