Description

It should be dead — it was dead — and yet the feathers still bristle, the claws still rake, and the hollow beak still snaps with maddening hunger.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is Pose 01 of the Zombie Owlbear range by Novaminis, and it captures something genuinely unsettling: the raw, lurching mass of an owlbear that refuses to stay down. Broken arrows jut from its matted feathers, its skeletal frame shows through in places where flesh has given way, and its posture — hunched forward, one arm raised as though dragging itself onward — speaks of relentless, mindless drive. The sculpt layers feathers, exposed hide, and splintered bone across a body that fills the base with real physical menace. Dungeon Masters running necromancer lairs, blighted forests, or cursed hunting grounds will find this creature immediately earns its place on the board.

As a Large undead beast, the Zombie Owlbear sits in a sweet spot between brute encounter and genuine threat — something the party recognises from past fights, now made far worse. The detail throughout rewards painters willing to work with contrast washes across the layered feathers, though it reads with equal clarity straight off the base if you're using it unpainted on game night.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Run horror-inflected D&D 5e encounters or Ravenloft-adjacent campaigns
  • Need a Large undead creature that reads instantly across the table
  • Want a centrepiece monster that doubles as a display piece
  • Are building a necromancer's menagerie or a blighted wilderness encounter
  • Collect Novaminis sculpts and want Pose 01 to complement the range

Encounter Hook:
The hunting party went missing three days ago. The ranger finds their broken arrows first — a trail of them — then hears the sound of something enormous moving through the undergrowth ahead, arrows still embedded in its hide, its beak clacking rhythmically in the dark.

Scaled to 32mm and printed at high resolution for crisp feather and bone detail throughout. Available with or without a plain black base — the base is unattached and can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue. Please note that while we remove supports and quality-check every piece, minor marks from the printing process can occasionally occur; these are easily tidied up before priming. The miniature arrives fully cured and ready for paint or tabletop use as-is.
