Description

It was once a soldier of the Astral Sea — broad-shouldered, disciplined, and proud — but whatever necromantic force claimed it left nothing behind but hunger and the pistol it can no longer aim.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is Zombie Giff 01, the first pose in our undead giff range from Novaminis. The giff were always an imposing sight — hulking, hippo-headed mercenaries who lived and died by their firearms — and this sculpt captures what happens when that martial pride is stripped away entirely. The figure lurches forward, bloated torso split open and stitched together with crude cross-hatching, its tattered uniform hanging loose over decaying flesh. A flintlock pistol is still gripped in one rotting hand, though the arm that holds it drags uselessly at its side. Multiple arrows or bolts protrude from its shoulder and neck — this thing has taken punishment and kept walking, as undead do. The wide, glassy eyes and lolling jaw of the giff's hippo-like face give it a grotesque blankness that makes it genuinely unsettling on the table.

Whether you're building an Astral Sea encounter, running a nautical horror campaign, or just want an undead creature that will make your players do a double-take, this miniature earns its place. Equally at home on a gaming table or a display shelf, it's a characterful piece that rewards careful painting — those stitched wounds and layered decay give painters plenty to work into.

A good match for adventurers who:

  • Run Spelljammer, Planescape, or Astral Sea campaigns
  • Need distinctive undead monsters that stand apart from standard zombies
  • Want a focal point creature for nautical horror or military undead encounters
  • Enjoy painting complex textures — rotting flesh, stitching, tattered cloth, and exposed wounds
  • Collect display miniatures with genuine personality and lore weight

Encounter Hook:
The party's contact at the mercenary outpost never showed — and when the doors finally swing open, they find the entire giff garrison still at their posts, still standing, still armed, their hollow eyes turning toward the entrance in unison as something unseen gives a silent command.
