This graveyard scatter piece captures that creeping moment of dread every Dungeon Master treasures: the instant the players realise the threat isn't coming from the shadows ahead — it's rising beneath their feet. A weathered headstone inscribed with "Rest in Peace" stands at the head of a richly detailed grave plot, its surface etched with a winged skull motif. Two skeletal-yet-fleshed hands break the surface of the disturbed earth at the foot and mid-section of the grave, tufts of wild grass scattered across the base adding a genuine sense of overgrown neglect.
Whether you're staging a necromancer's ritual, setting the scene in a haunted village cemetery, or simply enriching your undead encounter with atmospheric scatter terrain, this piece earns its place on the board. It works equally well as a standalone display piece for collectors who appreciate the macabre done with real craft.
A fine addition for adventurers who:
- Run undead-heavy campaigns, Ravenloft adventures, or Curse of Strahd sessions
- Want graveyard scatter terrain that tells a story at a glance
- Are building a cemetery set piece for a climactic encounter
- Collect atmospheric fantasy terrain for display
Encounter Hook:
The party is halfway across the churchyard when the sexton's lantern goes out. From the grave of the executed war criminal — the one with the cracked headstone — two hands begin to push through the frost-hardened soil, and the fingers are moving with unmistakable purpose.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The base is attached as shown. This is a scatter terrain piece rather than a character miniature — it arrives ready for priming and painting, or use it straight from the box for an unpainted grey aesthetic that photographs beautifully on the tabletop.
Sculpted by Ella's Arcanum Minis — visit their page to see more of their work.
Mitz & Simz — two black cats and the humans they allow to run the studio.
Pairs well with undead hordes for Ravenloft campaigns.
