Description

They said the runes he carved into his own scales could unravel a soul before the body hit the ground — and no one who tested that claim lived to dispute it.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Zareth Runebinder is a towering draconic figure radiating barely contained arcane menace. His muscular, scale-covered frame is stripped of conventional armour — the scales themselves are his protection — and a tattered, layered loincloth skirt hangs from a belt clasp decorated with a skull motif. One clawed hand grips a tall staff crowned with a spiked sun-wheel halo and a grinning skull, while the other curls in a slow, deliberate threatening gesture. His horned, fanged head is thrown slightly forward, jaw parted in a snarl that suggests he is either mid-incantation or simply done waiting.

The sculpt rewards careful painting. The overlapping scales across the chest, arms and legs offer excellent texture for dry-brushing and washes, while the tattered fabric panels of the skirt give soft, flowing contrast against all that hard chitin. The skull motifs — on the belt clasp and the staff — are crisp and well-defined, making them satisfying focal points for fine detail work. The spiked halo of the staff catches light from multiple angles, giving the mini a dramatic silhouette on the shelf or the board. He comes with a choice of decorative scenic base or a plain base, giving you flexibility depending on your basing scheme.

Zareth works equally well as a terrifying BBEG warlock or sorcerer, a powerful draconic cult leader, or an ambitious player character pushing the darker edges of a sorcerer or warlock build. The pose carries authority without being static — he looks like someone accustomed to being obeyed.

Suited to adventurers who:

  • Need a commanding draconic spellcaster as a campaign villain or recurring antagonist
  • Are building a draconic cult, dark cabal, or Abyssal encounter
  • Play a Dragonborn or Lizardfolk warlock or sorcerer and want a distinctive miniature
  • Enjoy painting complex scale textures and fine bone-and-skull detail work
  • Want a display-worthy centrepiece that earns its space on the painting shelf

Encounter Hook

The party tracks a string of disappearances to a cliffside obsidian altar. There, Zareth Runebinder stands at its centre, methodically etching glowing runes into a bound captive — not to kill them, but to rewrite them. He does not look up when the adventurers arrive. He simply says, quietly, that they are welcome to try to stop him, and raises his staff.
