Ysra Hollowtide is unlike any sea-spirit your party has faced before. Sculpted by Great Grimoire with exceptional compositional ambition, she strides across a churning wave-base surrounded by three galleons — tiny vessels tossed about her skirts like flotsam. One ship she holds aloft in an outstretched hand with casual, terrifying grace, as though weighing whether to let it live. This is not a creature of fury and lightning — she is patience given form, and patience is far more dangerous.

The sculpt captures that duality beautifully. Her posture is unhurried — chin lifted, expression calm, bare feet walking the surface of the sea as though it were a garden path. Her flowing skirt merges seamlessly into the wave itself, blurring the line between woman and ocean. Braided hair, layered jewellery, and wrist cuffs give her the look of a coastal deity who has been worshipped for centuries and has long since grown indifferent to the prayers. The scenic base is a fully sculpted set-piece, packed with narrative detail — ships in various states of helplessness, rolling breakers, and a sense of vast scale that makes the whole piece feel genuinely monumental.

For painters, Ysra offers tremendous range: cool oceanic glazes on the wave base, warm skin tones against deep aqua cloth, verdigris and weathered wood on the galleons, and a face that rewards fine detail work. As a display piece, she is an immediate centrepiece — but she works equally well on the table as an ancient sea deity, a Marid sovereign, or a legendary harpy queen of the deep lanes.

A fine choice for adventurers who:

  • Run nautical or seafaring campaigns where the ocean itself is an antagonist
  • Need a visually commanding deity, spirit, or ancient entity for a climactic encounter
  • Love ambitious scenic bases packed with storytelling detail
  • Want a showcase painting project that will turn heads on any display shelf

Encounter Hook: The merchant fleet out of Caeldross has been disappearing — not sinking, the wreckage would be too easy. Three ships vanish from the Hollowtide Straits in a single night, and the only survivor washes ashore clutching a child's toy boat, babbling about a woman who held the admiral's galleon up to the moonlight and simply… smiled. When the party finally sails into the Straits to investigate, the water goes glassy still, the wind dies, and something very tall rises from the deep ahead of them.

Mitz rolled Charisma. Simz rolled Charisma. Both succeeded. The humans had no say in any of this.
