White dragons are the smallest of the chromatic flight, but what they lack in cunning they compensate for in savage, instinctual fury. A young white dragon has shed the vulnerability of wyrmlinghood and found its appetite — for territory, for livestock, for the frozen hoards it has just begun to accumulate. This sculpt captures that adolescent ferocity beautifully: wings fully spread and angled mid-glide, the body low and predatory, clawed forelegs reaching forward as though seconds from impact. The head is turned with teeth bared, ridge scales running sharp along the neck and spine, and the wing membranes are stretched taut between long, hooked fingers. Every scale panel is rendered with crisp individual detail, from the broad dorsal plates to the finer texture across the chest and legs.
As a large-sized creature, this dragon commands real table presence. At 32mm scale it towers over standard infantry minis, making it a compelling centrepiece for any arctic encounter — or a genuinely threatening patrol creature for mountain and wilderness encounters where the party thinks they're safe between rests. The sculpt is equally rewarding as a display piece: the dynamic flying pose gives painters excellent surface variety to work with, and the detail holds well at arm's length or under close inspection.
This is Epic Miniatures' #124, noted as pre-supported, and sized as a large creature — so expect a wingspan that makes your players sit up a little straighter.
A good choice for adventurers who:
- Run arctic, mountain, or frozen wilderness campaigns
- Need a large dragon encounter that isn't quite a campaign-ender
- Want a demanding and rewarding centrepiece painting project
- Are building out a chromatic dragon collection for progressive encounters
- Play Rime of the Frostmaiden or any cold-climate adventure arc
Encounter Hook: The caravan from Easthaven never arrived. Local hunters found claw marks — each the length of a longsword — raked into the ice shelf above the northern pass. Something young, fast, and territorial has claimed the road. The party is hired to clear it. No one mentions that the reward is suspiciously generous.
