Description
Born in the frozen wastes and already large enough to swallow a halfling whole, the young remorhaz is one of the most feared predators of the arctic depths — a chitinous nightmare of frill, fang, and writhing limbs that hasn't yet reached its terrifying full size, but doesn't need to.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The sculpt captures the young remorhaz mid-rise — its segmented, armour-plated body coiling upward from a rocky base as multiple articulated legs splay outward beneath it. The broad, fan-like frill crowns its head like a grotesque collar, framing a wide-open maw ringed with needle-like teeth. Curling antennae-like horns arc above a pair of blank, bulbous eyes that give it an alien, insectoid quality entirely at odds with the raw heat it radiates. Every segment of its carapace is individually detailed, with overlapping plates along the abdomen and a spiked ridge running the length of its back. The rocky terrain base grounds it naturally and gives painters a clear focal anchor at the base of the piece.
Despite the word "young" in its name, this is far from a small miniature — the rearing pose adds genuine height to the figure, and the spread of limbs gives it a commanding footprint on the table. Whether you're using it as a wandering encounter threat in a frozen wilderness, a guardian creature under the control of a frost giant jarl, or simply a centrepiece challenge for a low-to-mid level party, this sculpt delivers the presence the stat block promises.
Particularly well-suited to adventurers who:
- Run arctic, frozen tundra, or Icewind Dale campaigns
- Want a multi-limbed insectoid creature to unsettle their players
- Are building out a bestiary of CR-appropriate wilderness monsters
- Enjoy painting creature minis with lots of textural variety — chitin, membrane, and rock all in one piece
- Are collectors of high-detail monster sculpts for display
Encounter Hook: The party's guide goes silent mid-sentence. Beneath their boots, the permafrost is warm — almost feverishly so — and the ground is beginning to crack. From below, something large is rising. The snow around them melts in a growing circle, and two curling horns breach the surface first, followed by the frill, the maw, and far too many legs. The young remorhaz has been nesting here all winter. The party just camped directly above it.
