This is King Arthur as legend rarely shows him: young, raw, and electric with the weight of destiny. From the Chronicles of Excalibur range by Primal Collectibles, this sculpt captures the moment before Arthur became a king — sword raised, jaw set, boots planted on a textured stone-and-grass base that grounds him in the wild countryside of Albion. The quilted gambeson and belted tunic speak to a warrior not yet clad in royal plate, and the dynamic pose — chest forward, one leg braced — radiates the kind of defiant energy that shifts the course of history.
This is the kind of miniature that earns a dedicated place at the centre of a campaign. Whether you're running an Arthurian-flavoured adventure, a low-fantasy political drama, or simply need a young noble fighter whose presence commands attention, Arthur brings genuine narrative gravity to any table. He's equally at home leading a warband on the battlefield or standing display-painted on a shelf where every detail can be admired up close.
Perfect for adventurers who:- Need a young warrior king or prophesied hero as a PC or central NPC
- Are running Arthurian, medieval, or low-fantasy TTRPG campaigns
- Want a Fighter or Paladin miniature with genuine character and story presence
- Collect display-scale pieces from independent fantasy sculptors
- Are building a party of legendary heroes with recognisable archetypes
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to escort a young nobleman — unremarkable on paper — through the Thornwood Pass. Halfway through, bandits ambush the convoy, and when all seems lost, the nobleman draws a blade that hums with a faint golden light, scatters the attackers with a rallying cry, and turns to the party with wild eyes: "I didn't know it would do that." Neither did anyone else. The age of Arthur has just begun, and your players were there for the first moment.
