Description

The mountain folk call it the Horned Maw — not for its teeth, but for the curved black horns that emerge from its matted crown like a dark omen before a blizzard.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is the second sculpt in Novaminis' Yeti range, and it brings a distinctly different character to the table from pose 01. Where other yeti miniatures opt for hunched aggression, this one stands wide and open — arms spread, claws splayed, daring the party to come closer. The layered, feather-like fur texture cascades across its entire body, giving it a strange, almost ritualistic quality. The curved horns crowning its head hint at something older and stranger than a simple predator — this is a creature that has been in these peaks long enough to become part of the myth.

The sculpt rewards painters who enjoy working in layered washes and drybrushing — each overlapping tuft of fur catches light independently, and the heavily detailed claws and face offer genuine focal points. Equally at home on a display shelf as it is on a battle map.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a commanding boss-level threat for arctic, mountain, or tundra encounters
  • Are running campaigns in frozen wilderness settings or monster lairs
  • Want a Yeti that feels like more than just a brute — something with presence and mystery
  • Enjoy detailed painting projects with strong texture across the whole sculpt
  • Are building a Novaminis Yeti set alongside pose 01

Encounter Hook:
The village elder swears the creature has circled the settlement three times this week — always at dusk, always stopping at the treeline with its arms spread wide, as though waiting to be answered. The party arrives on the fourth evening to find the elder gone, a trail of deep claw prints leading up the ridge, and something enormous silhouetted against the snow-bright sky.

Details

What's included:
Supplied at 32mm scale. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with any high-detail miniature, minor marks are possible and can be tidied with light sanding. Arrives fully cured and ready to prime and paint — or use straight from the box if you prefer.

For any Tabaxi or cat-folk miniatures — the studio cats reviewed this one personally. There was purring.

Pairs well with giant encounters — build out your arctic adventures with more from Novaminis.
