Yak Standing by Atlanticus Arts
Description
The mountain passes are treacherous enough without a half-tonne of matted fur and curved horn deciding you're too close to the herd.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The yak is one of those creatures that rarely appears on encounter tables but absolutely should. A staple of high-altitude wilderness, frozen tundra, and remote mountain settlements, a yak can serve as pack animal, environmental obstacle, or the centrepiece of a dangerous stampede encounter. This sculpt captures the beast with real weight and character — thick, shaggy fur rendered in layered strands across the entire body, a broad lowered head, and two pronounced curved horns that give it the presence of something you would very much rather not aggravate. The base features broken stone and rocky ground, anchoring it firmly in a highland or mountain wilderness setting.
Whether you're building out a Himalayan-inspired overland journey, running a frigid northern hexcrawl, or simply want a convincing livestock detail for a mountain village encounter, this model brings that world to the table. It works equally well as a display piece for adventurers who appreciate well-sculpted animals alongside their heroes and monsters.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Run overland wilderness campaigns with rich environmental encounters
- Want convincing livestock or pack animals for mountain settlements
- Are building a tundra, highland, or frozen north setting
- Collect well-sculpted beast miniatures for display
- Need a Beast-category creature for D&D 5e encounters
Encounter Hook:
The party's guide warns them to keep their distance — the yak at the edge of the narrow pass is already skittish, and one wrong step could send it charging across the only safe route down the mountain, with the rest of the herd close behind.
Available in 32mm tabletop scale or 54mm display scale. Supplied with a detailed scenic base. The model arrives cleaned and ready for priming and painting, or can be used as-is straight from the box.
