Wulfstan Woodward is the kind of man who doesn't need to raise his voice to command a room. Broad-shouldered and weathered, dressed in layered travelling coats and fur-wrapped boots that have crossed more wilderness than most adventurers have mapped, he carries a hand axe with the easy familiarity of someone who's used it for firewood and for fighting in equal measure. A long-stemmed pipe rests in one hand — the other grips that axe at his side — and his thick grey beard and heavy brow give him the look of someone who has survived long enough to stop worrying about what's in the dark.

Whether he's a gruff wilderness guide with secrets he won't share, a retired ranger turned hermit, a suspicious gatekeeper to lands the party has no right to enter, or the very last person standing between a village and something terrible in the woods — Wulfstan brings immediate presence to any encounter.
