This sculpt presents one of the most evocative concepts in undead horror: a ghost that does not merely haunt — it drives. The skeletal warrior's body is locked in a combat-ready crouch, shield raised and notched sword levelled, every line of the armour suggesting a fighter who knew how to use these weapons in life. But looming from behind, wraith-fingers clutching at the skeleton's shoulders and torso, is the possessing spirit — a crowned, skull-faced spectre trailing trails of ethereal energy, its hollow gaze fixing whatever target the body is about to be hurled at. The result is two monsters in one sculpt: the shambling, armoured threat you can see, and the hateful intelligence steering it from within.
The armour itself rewards close attention — overlapping scale-and-plate construction, weathered leather strapping, a heavy rectangular shield covered in wear marks, and a long thrusting blade with an aged, pitted finish. The sculpt comes with a decorative base that suits the miniature's gothic register beautifully. Supported and unsupported STL variants are available, and the multipart construction gives painters precise access to every detail from the ethereal crown down to the bone-armoured boots.
Whether you're reaching for a memorable lieutenant in a Ravenloft chronicle, giving a Shadowfell encounter some genuine menace, or building a themed undead warband, Death's Grasp is the kind of sculpt that earns a double-take from across the table.
- Adventurers running Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or gothic horror campaigns who want encounters that feel genuinely unsettling
- Dungeon Masters needing an undead enemy that reads as immediately threatening on the table
- Painters who want a centrepiece model with multiple distinct focal points — bone, metal, spirit energy — to push their skills across different textures
- Collectors drawn to the concept of possession made physical in miniature form
Encounter Hook: The party recognise the armour — it belonged to the city guard captain who went missing six weeks ago during the siege. But before anyone can speak, the crowned wraith riding the skeleton's shoulders turns its empty sockets directly toward the party's cleric, and the body lunges.
