Description

She was a arch-necromancer once — now she is something older and far more terrible, her fleshless form draped in tattered robes as she sweeps her skull-tipped scythe through the air with the hunger of centuries.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Wraith Mother is a commanding undead presence — skeletal, robed, and radiating the kind of menace that makes even seasoned adventurers reconsider their life choices. This sculpt by Epic Miniatures captures her mid-attack, one arm raised aloft gripping a gnarled staff topped with an ornate finial, the other wielding a long scythe whose curved blade ends in a grinning skull. Her tattered robes billow dramatically around her, shredded at the hem, giving the impression that she drifts between the material world and something far darker.

The detail throughout is exceptional — her exposed ribcage and skeletal limbs are wrapped in the remnants of what were once fine garments, now corrupted by undeath. Long trailing hair falls down her back, and the rocky base she rises from gives the piece a grounded dynamism, as if she is surging forward from the earth itself. On the large 51mm base, she has genuine table presence — the kind of centrepiece encounter monster that signals to your players that things are about to get very serious.

She works equally well as a lich-adjacent BBEG, a powerful undead champion, or the titular boss of a necromancer's tomb. Painters will find rich opportunity in her flowing cloth, aged bone, and intricate staff work — whether you go for pale sepulchral greys, necrotic greens, or dark spectral blues, she rewards careful brushwork at every scale.

Well suited to adventurers who:

  • Need a large, commanding undead boss for a campaign climax or dungeon finale
  • Are running a Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or graveyard-themed encounter
  • Want a centrepiece miniature that doubles as a display piece between sessions
  • Are painting a themed undead warband and need the centrepiece anchor

Encounter Hook: The party descends into the sunken crypt beneath Vellmoor Abbey, expecting a few wights and a locked sarcophagus — instead, the tomb's central chamber erupts with cold light as the Wraith Mother tears herself free of the stone altar, scythe already swinging, whispering the names of every adventurer's greatest fear.
