- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This wraith sculpt by Mia Kay M3DM is a genuinely unsettling piece of character design. The figure emerges from a churning, thorn-riddled base as though tearing free from the earth itself — long-fingered hands raised, a skull-like face crowned with short horns, and a body that transitions from gaunt, exposed torso into a swirling mass of dark energy and jagged spines below. There's real movement and menace in the pose, and the detail across the base — grasping tendrils and erupting terrain — makes this feel like an encounter already mid-swing.
For Dungeon Masters, this works beautifully as a wraith, banshee, or any incorporeal undead that deserves a dramatic entrance. The raised arms read immediately as a creature channelling dark power or simply screaming its fury at the living — either way, it'll land hard on the table. Equally compelling as a display piece or painting project, with the layered sculpting across the lower body offering excellent depth for washes and contrast techniques.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Run undead encounters in Ravenloft, haunted ruins, or cursed crypts
- Need a boss-tier undead presence for a necromancy-heavy campaign
- Enjoy painting complex, textured sculpts with strong visual drama
- Collect display-worthy fantasy miniatures from independent artists
Encounter Hook:
The village priest told the party the old burial mound had been silent for generations — but three nights ago the barrow stones cracked open from the inside, and something with hollow eyes and raised hands was seen moving through the wheat fields at midnight, heading towards the manor house where the last of the old bloodline sleeps.
