This worn A-frame tent is exactly the kind of scatter terrain that turns a blank battle map into a lived-in world. The sculpt features a wooden timber frame with a woven hide or thatch covering, layered in overlapping scales of texture that reward careful painting. The base is rough-hewn stone and earth, suggesting a temporary camp thrown up in the wilderness, a bandit's hasty shelter, or a travelling merchant's roadside stop. It's the sort of piece that tells a story before a single dice is rolled.
Equally at home in a forest clearing, a mountain pass, or a ruined settlement, this tent works as cover terrain during skirmishes or as an atmospheric centrepiece for investigation scenes. It's a small detail that lands large at the table — and looks equally at home on a display shelf.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Build immersive wilderness, roadside, or overland battle maps
- Need cover terrain that doubles as a story prompt
- Enjoy painting textured terrain pieces with layered surfaces
- Are growing a scatter terrain collection for display or gaming
Encounter Hook:
The party crests the hill to find three tents arranged around a dead campfire — two empty, one with the flap lashed shut from the inside. A DC 14 Perception check reveals scratch marks gouged into the tent post, low down, as if made by something crawling. Whatever made them came from inside.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model with the detailed base comes as a single piece. The model with the plain base has the base detached for easier painting — it reattaches simply with a small amount of glue. Ready for priming and painting straight away, or use it as-is for an unpainted grey aesthetic. Some minor clean-up from the print process may occasionally be needed; any small marks are easily addressed before painting.
