This Workboard Easel is a richly detailed steampunk scatter terrain piece that doubles as a centrepiece for any artificer's workshop, inventor's guild, or arcane laboratory. The easel board is covered in lovingly sculpted detail — runic notations, rolled maps, measuring tools, a mounted magnifying lens, and interlocking gears along the frame and legs. It's the kind of prop that tells a story before a single die has been rolled.
Crowning the whole piece is a mechanical owl familiar, feathers articulated in clockwork detail, perched on the upper edge of the board as though keeping vigil over whatever grand design is in progress. Whether this is the workshop of a gnome artificer, the study of a wizard with expensive tastes, or the operations board of a steampunk guild master, this terrain piece brings an extraordinary level of world-building to your table.
Brilliant for adventurers who:
- Run steampunk, artificer-themed, or magitech TTRPG campaigns
- Want detailed scatter terrain that rewards players who look closely
- Are building a workshop, study, or guild hall encounter space
- Collect display-worthy fantasy terrain with genuine character
Encounter Hook:
The party discovers the Artificer's Guild has been ransacked — but the clockwork owl on the workboard easel is still active, its eyes tracking whoever enters. It cannot speak, but its gaze keeps returning to one particular point on the half-finished map pinned to the board. Someone, or something, doesn't want that route found.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The piece is supplied ready for priming and painting, or can be used straight from the box for an unpainted aesthetic. Minor support marks are possible but easily tidied with light sanding — each piece is quality checked before dispatch.
