This is a minotaur who has transcended the role of simple brute. Clad head to hoof in heavily engraved plate armour — shoulder guards, gauntlets, leg plates, and an ornate chest piece — the Wooly Minotaur Paladin is a warrior who has earned his sacred calling the hard way. His broad horns are banded at the base, his mane of dreadlock-like hair falls forward over his snarling face, and his stance — one fist raised, the other lowering a longsword toward the ground — radiates barely contained power. A billowing cape sweeps dramatically to one side, lending the sculpt a sense of momentum even at rest.

The sculpt rewards close attention. The armour is layered with rune-like geometric engravings, and the exposed portions of fur on his legs and feet carry strong texture detail. The expression is a full snarl — teeth bared, brow furrowed — giving him the look of a commander who has already decided the outcome of this battle. The integrated base is a chunky cobblestone tile, well suited to dungeon corridors, labyrinth chambers, or fortified keeps.

As a miniature for painting, this sculpt offers clear, broad surface planes alongside finer recessed detail — the armour alone could carry multiple metallic layering techniques, while the fur, cape, and skin provide varied texture challenges. Whether you go for burnished gold, tarnished black iron, or something more unusual, the Wooly Minotaur Paladin has the surface area to carry it beautifully.

This miniature suits adventurers who:

  • Need a morally complex minotaur for a D&D 5e or Pathfinder campaign
  • Are running a labyrinth, dungeon city, or minotaur faction encounter
  • Want to field a Paladin NPC or BBEG with presence and gravitas
  • Are playing a Minotaur Paladin and want a miniature that actually fits the concept
  • Love painting heavily armoured, characterful creatures for display

Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to clear out the lower levels of the Ironhoof Citadel — a fortress long thought abandoned. On the third level, they find not monsters, but order: patrols, shrines, discipline. And at the centre of it all, the Warden — a minotaur paladin who swore an oath to the fortress's original builders centuries ago, and who has no intention of letting anyone leave without answering for why they have come.
