This Woodland Altar is a richly detailed scatter terrain piece built around a tall tripod of bone-lashed timber, crowned with a massive moose skull etched with a pentagram. Broken weapons, wild grasses, clusters of mushrooms, and scattered human skulls surround a central offering bowl, all set on a ruined stone dais half-swallowed by the undergrowth. It speaks immediately of druidic ritual gone wrong, a fey bargain honoured in blood, or a cult that predates the nearest city by centuries.
Whether you're setting the scene for a midnight ambush in a corrupted forest, the centrepiece of a hag's territory, or a long-forgotten shrine in a campaign's deep wilderness, this piece earns its place on the table. It's equally at home in a display cabinet alongside your painted collection — the sculpt rewards careful brushwork on the bone, skulls, mushrooms, and stonework.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run wilderness, Feywild, or druidic horror encounters
- Want evocative scatter terrain that anchors a scene immediately
- Are building a dark nature cult, hag coven, or corrupted grove storyline
- Enjoy painting detailed terrain pieces for display as well as play
Encounter Hook:
The party has tracked the missing villagers to a clearing three miles into the Thornwood. In the centre stands this altar, the offering bowl still warm, the skulls freshly placed — and from the treeline, the crack of branches suggests whoever left them hasn't gone far.
Scaled to 32mm. The model is attached to its detailed scenic base as a single piece. Ready for priming and painting straight out of the box, or use as-is for immediate atmosphere at the table. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin terrain, minor surface marks may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up with fine sandpaper.
