Description

It moves like a stag through the treeline — graceful, antlered, utterly wrong — and only when it turns do you see the eight spindly legs beneath that bark-crusted body.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Wolf-Spider Forest Guardian is one of those creatures that lodges itself in your players' imaginations long after the session ends. At first glance it resembles a great hart of the wood: sweeping, branching antlers, a body wrapped in layered bark and foliage, an almost noble bearing. Then your eyes travel downward, and the illusion shatters. Eight chitinous spider legs carry this thing forward with a predator's patience, and the tail curled behind it speaks of something far older and stranger than any woodland beast. This sculpt captures that dissonance with remarkable skill — the serene, fey-touched face set against the bristling, insectoid limbs below creates an unsettling tension that reads immediately on the tabletop.

Whether you run it as a corrupted nature spirit, a Feywild predator that has wandered into the mortal world, or simply an ancient monstrosity the forest has kept secret for centuries, the Wolf-Spider Forest Guardian makes a compelling centrepiece encounter. It's equally at home patrolling a druidic sanctuary gone wrong, lurking at the heart of a cursed woodland, or serving as the avatar of a dying god of the hunt. Painters will find plenty to work with — the contrast between delicate antler texture, layered bark-fur, and hard angular limbs rewards multiple techniques.

Well suited to adventurers who:

  • Want a genuinely unsettling fey or monstrosity encounter for a forest arc
  • Are building a Feywild, cursed woodland, or corrupted druidic grove setting
  • Need a memorable boss encounter that isn't a standard spider or deer
  • Paint display-quality miniatures and want a sculpt with real textural variety
  • Collect distinctive creature minis for their shelves as well as their sessions

Encounter Hook:
The druid village's sacred stag has not been seen at the solstice altar for three seasons. When the party enters the Thornmere to investigate, they find the altar desecrated — and hear the slow, deliberate tap of eight legs on stone coming from the treeline. The forest's guardian is still here. It is simply not what it used to be.

Details

Printed at 32mm scale here in the UK. This miniature comes ready for priming and painting, or can be used straight from the box as a striking unpainted piece. The model arrives attached to its detailed scenic base — small crystal formations and undergrowth detail are included in the base sculpt. As with all hand-finished resin prints, minor surface marks may occasionally occur; these are easily addressed before painting.
