Description

They say the Big Bad was never just a monster in a story — he was a hunter first, and hunters remember every trail they've ever walked.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is the Wolf Hunter — the creature the fairy tales forgot to warn you about properly. Where the stories told you he huffed and puffed, the truth is far colder: a towering, fur-mantled predator in layered armour, crossbow raised and loaded, prowling the edge of the treeline with the patience of something that has never once failed to find its quarry.

The sculpt captures a hunched, forward-leaning stance that radiates coiled menace — clawed digitigrade legs braced wide, a heavy cloak swept back behind him, and a beautifully detailed heavy crossbow levelled across his chest. The wolf head is fully bestial: snarling muzzle, pricked ears, and a rune-etched pauldron at the shoulder that hints at something older and more deliberate than mere savagery. The fur texture across his back and shoulders is rendered in extraordinary depth, with individual tufts distinguishable at close range — a genuine reward for the painter willing to spend time here.

The decorative scenic base — a mound of rough cobblestones and roots — grounds the piece in a forest road or woodland settlement, and the overall silhouette reads clearly across the table even before a drop of paint touches it. This is a miniature that works as a mid-campaign shock encounter and as a display piece equally well.

From DM Stash's Tales Grimm collection, this sculpt leans into the darker fairy tale tradition: not whimsy, but dread. A Dungeon Master running a Brothers Grimm-inflected campaign, a dark forest hex-crawl, or any arc where folklore hides real teeth will find the Wolf Hunter earns his place as a centrepiece encounter.

  • Werewolf ranger or lycanthrope hunter BBEG for forest or village campaigns
  • A fearsome Player Character concept — a werewolf ranger or fighter with a tragic curse
  • Fairy tale villain given mechanical weight in a D&D 5e or Pathfinder encounter
  • A striking painting project for adventurers who love fur texture and complex armour

Encounter Hook: The party has been tracking a series of disappearances from a logging settlement deep in the Thornwood. Each victim was last seen near the old king's road at dusk — and each time, witnesses spoke of a figure too large to be a man, carrying what looked like a hunter's crossbow over one massive shoulder. As the players arrive at the scene of the latest vanishing, they find a single bolt buried in a tree at head height — runes etched along its shaft still faintly glowing. He was here. He knows they're coming. And he's already chosen his next target.
