- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
Withers is one of the most quietly menacing figures in recent D&D lore — a gaunt, bald-headed overseer draped in dark tattered robes, his expression set in permanent disdain. This sculpt from MZ4250 captures that sense of cold authority with exceptional detail: wide, wing-like folds of fabric flare dramatically to either side, and the base is a genuinely unsettling mass of disembodied grasping hands clawing up from below, as if the dead themselves answer his call. In his hands, he cradles a grinning skull — a small but telling prop that says everything about where his loyalties lie.
The silhouette of this miniature reads clearly across a gaming table — the raised head, the spread robes, and that distinctive base of writhing hands make him instantly recognisable even before the paint goes on. He's a genuinely rewarding project for painters too: the layered robes offer excellent cloth-shading opportunities, and those hands on the base practically beg for a bone-dry brushing with pale highlights.
Whether you're running him as a key antagonist in a dungeon delve, a servant of a greater undead power, or a bureaucratic overseer in the realm of the dead, Withers commands the table with quiet authority.
This miniature is particularly well-suited for adventurers who:
- Are running or playing through a campaign featuring undead factions or necromantic cults
- Want a distinct, named NPC miniature with strong visual presence
- Are looking for a challenging and rewarding figure to paint — especially the base detail
- Collect display-quality miniatures from iconic D&D source material
- Need a memorable BBEG or lieutenant-level antagonist for their table
Encounter Hook: The party has been sent into the dungeon to retrieve a stolen soul contract. At the iron archive gate, they find Withers already waiting — hands folded over that skull, expression unreadable. He doesn't draw a weapon. He simply asks, very quietly, what they think they're doing in his domain. The hands around his feet begin to stir.
