The Mourned Sisters are a trio of hags sculpted with the kind of malevolent character that makes every DM smile. The first sister stands broad and hooded, clutching a writhing toad familiar with a grin that has seen a hundred bad bargains go exactly as she planned. The second looms tall at the centre, hair hanging loose, one claw raised over the cauldron as something unspeakable churns within. The third crouches low and wiry, knuckles on the rim of the pot, lips drawn back in a leer — and on the twisted dead branch beside her, a raven watches in silence. The shared scenic base ties all three together into a single commanding set piece, making them as powerful a display piece as they are a tabletop encounter.

In D&D 5e terms, hags occupy that rare space between creature and NPC — too clever to simply fight, too dangerous to simply ignore. Whether you run them as a night hag coven weaving a shared Heartstone bargain, a trio of sea hags dragging sailors to ruin, or a green hag sisterhood trading in stolen dreams, the Mourned Sisters carry the weight of that threat in every line of their sculpt. They work equally well in a Ravenloft horror campaign, a dark Feywild arc, or as the true power behind a corrupt village elder.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a hag coven encounter that carries real dramatic presence
  • Are building a Ravenloft, Feywild, or dark folklore campaign arc
  • Want a multi-figure set piece that doubles as a display centrepiece
  • Are painting collectors drawn to richly characterful horror sculpts
  • Run NPC encounters where negotiation is just as likely as combat

Encounter Hook:
The party tracks a missing child to a fog-draped clearing where three old women stand around a steaming cauldron. The child is there — unharmed, laughing, helping them stir. The Sisters smile at the approaching adventurers and ask, very pleasantly, whether they would also like to make a trade.

This set is printed at 32mm scale. The figures and scenic base come as separate pieces and are designed to be attached with a small amount of glue — the Sisters interact with the base in ways that make the decorative base well worth including. Each print is quality checked before dispatch; as with all hand-finished resin work, minor marks from support removal may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up with a hobby knife or fine sandpaper before priming.
