Winter Wolf by Monster Atlas
Description
Where the tundra meets the treeline and the temperature drops without warning, the Winter Wolf is already watching — patient, ancient, and armoured in its own frozen hide.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This sculpt from Monster Atlas captures the Winter Wolf at its most predatory: low-slung and stalking, with a thick coat of layered, scale-like growths erupting across its shoulders and neck like frost-hardened bark. Those pale, cold-blue eyes hold a sharp intelligence that marks this beast as something more than an ordinary wolf — and the bony protrusions running along its spine make clear that nature itself has armoured this creature for the long hunt. Whether you're running it as a lone apex predator or the pack leader of a winter encounter, this miniature carries the weight of a genuine threat.
The sculpt rewards careful painting — the contrast between the sleek fur of the legs and the rough, overlapping texture of the armoured back gives painters two distinct surfaces to work with, while those luminous eyes are begging for a pop of icy blue or pale violet. Equally at home as a display piece on a shelf as it is menacing adventurers across a frozen battlemap.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Need a credible apex predator for arctic or mountain wilderness encounters
- Are building a white dragon's lair encounter with beast guardians
- Play or DM in settings with harsh northern climates — think tundra hexcrawls or blizzard-stranded caravans
- Want a centrepiece beast miniature for their painted display collection
- Are statting up an intelligent wolf companion or villain's mount with an edge
Encounter Hook:
The ranger's tracking roll reveals three sets of enormous paw prints circling the frozen campsite — and the spacing between them shows they were moving fast. The snow around the fire pit is disturbed, and the merchant's guard dog is nowhere to be found. Something with bone-plated shoulders and cold blue eyes has been here within the last hour, and the tree line is only thirty feet away.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The miniature and decorative base are separate pieces — a small amount of superglue will secure them. The base is worth attaching as the sculpt is designed to interact with it naturally. Printed to a high level of detail; any minor support marks can be cleaned up before priming. Arrives ready for painting or use straight from the box.
