This is the winter wolf in full threat display — weight dropped low, head thrust forward, jaws wide open and packed with jagged teeth. Every surface of this sculpt is covered in dense, layered fur that radiates outward from the spine like frost-hardened hackles, giving the creature an almost elemental ferocity. The long, raking claws grip as though finding purchase on ice, and the upright tail signals aggression rather than retreat. This is not a wolf that hesitates.
Labelled as a large-size miniature by Epic Miniatures, this wolf sits notably bigger than a standard 32mm infantry piece — as you'd expect from a CR 3 beast that can knock a grown fighter flat and breathe a cone of freezing cold. The sculpt rewards painters who enjoy working fur textures, with natural light-catching ridges across the mane, shoulders, and flanks that take drybrushing and layering exceptionally well. Whether you're going for a pale arctic coat, a shadowy Shadowfell variant, or something amber and feral for a forest encounter, the detail is all there waiting.
Brings real menace to:
- Icewind Dale and other arctic wilderness campaigns
- Encounters with frost giant jarls and their wolf companions
- Druid wildshape or ranger beast companion representation
- Shadowfell hunts and winter-themed Ravenloft domains
- Display dioramas built around cold-weather predators
Encounter Hook: The party's ranger spots a single set of oversized tracks leading into the pass — too large for any natural wolf. As they follow the trail, the temperature drops sharply and their breath fogs the air. The winter wolf has been tracking them since the last village, and it chose this narrow gap in the rocks deliberately. It isn't alone.

This miniature is a large-size sculpt — noticeably bigger than standard 32mm foot soldiers to reflect the creature's in-game size category. Supplied unpainted with no base, ready for your primer of choice. Pre-supported files were used in production for clean results on thin limb sections and the open jaw.
