Description
Where the steppes meet the sky, the winged lion soars — mane streaming behind it like a war banner, talons barely grazing the earth before it launches itself skyward once more.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This sculpt by Mia Kay captures the winged lion in a grounded, regal stance: four paws planted wide, great feathered wings fanned behind it, and a thick flowing mane framing a face of unmistakable authority. It sits somewhere between divine guardian and apex predator — the kind of creature a high priest might keep chained in a temple forecourt, or a celestial might send as herald before a god's wrath arrives in earnest.
In D&D and other TTRPGs, winged lions make compelling encounters across a wide range of settings. They work as sacred guardians of sun temples, as bonded mounts for paladins and clerics, as proud beast companions in Feywild hunts, or simply as dangerous apex predators roosting in mountain cliffsides. The sculpt's detail — individual feathers, layered mane, strong leonine musculature — makes it equally rewarding as a display piece for collectors and painters.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run celestial, divine, or high-fantasy encounters
- Need a believable guardian creature for a temple, palace, or sacred site
- Are building a paladin or cleric character with a bonded or divine mount
- Want a centrepiece beast miniature for their display shelf or painting desk
- Are crafting Feywild or mythological-themed campaigns
Encounter Hook:
The party crests the ridge and finds the mountain shrine already occupied — a winged lion paces before the sealed doors, its amber gaze fixed on them with unsettling intelligence. It hasn't attacked. It's waiting to see if they're worthy.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The model with a detailed base comes as a single piece; the plain base option ships detached for easy basing customisation with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch and each piece is quality checked — minor surface marks from the printing process are possible but easily cleaned up before priming.
