Walter the Grower is the kind of NPC who anchors a settlement to the earth beneath it. A weathered older man with a no-nonsense expression, he carries a long-handled spade over one shoulder and a watering can in his free hand — tools of a life spent in honest labour. His sturdy work coat is buckled at the waist with a thick belt hung with practical leather pouches, and his boots are made for fields, not cobbles. There's a quiet stubbornness in his posture: broad-shouldered, grounded, not easily moved.

Whether Walter is a trusted quest-giver who noticed something wrong in his fields at dawn, a suspicious villager who refuses to speak to strangers, or a retired soldier who traded a sword for a spade and never looked back — this sculpt gives Dungeon Masters a richly detailed character to place at the heart of any rural or small-town setting. He works equally well as a display piece for collectors who appreciate the craft of everyday fantasy characters.

A great choice for adventurers who:

  • Need a well-realised farmer, groundskeeper, or village elder NPC
  • Are running campaigns set in rural villages, frontier towns, or pastoral landscapes
  • Want a character who could double as a retired veteran or herbalist with hidden knowledge
  • Enjoy painting character minis with real personality and surface detail
  • Collect display miniatures of non-combat fantasy folk

Encounter Hook:
Walter meets the party at the edge of his field before sunrise, shovel in hand, standing over a patch of earth that was freshly turned in the night — in the shape of a perfect circle, twenty feet across, with nothing planted and nothing taken. He says it's happened three nights running. He says he doesn't want trouble. His knuckles are white on the handle.

What's included:
Walter the Grower is printed at 35mm scale. If you'd prefer 32mm, just send us a message and we'll adjust it for you. A plain black base is included as standard; a decorative base is available as an upgrade — if you select that option, please drop us a note to let us know which style you'd like. The base comes separate and is easily attached with a small amount of glue. Miniatures arrive with supports removed and fully cured, ready for priming and painting.
