The Wickerman Golem is the kind of construct that doesn't need a stat block to be terrifying. This bust captures the creature at its most elemental: a grotesque, bulbous head erupting from a cylindrical body of lashed sticks and cord, jagged wooden spines radiating outward like a crown of broken spears. The face is all gaping maw and sunken eyes — barely a face at all, more the suggestion of malice given form. This is a creature built not from arcane craft but from old magic, desperate ritual, and something that really did not want to be woken.
As a display bust, this piece is designed to reward the painter. Every lashed bundle of sticks, every twisted cord binding, every rough-hewn surface carries extraordinary texture detail. The sculptors at Witchsong have used the bust format to go deep on expression and material contrast — the organic chaos of the wooden body against the gnarled, almost skull-like head makes for a genuinely compelling painting project. Whether you're pushing contrast paints, glazing bark tones, or going full OSL with a warm ritual-flame glow, this bust gives you the canvas to do it.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want a characterful display bust with exceptional surface texture to paint
- Are building a shelf of dark fantasy or folk horror character pieces
- Need visual inspiration for a golem, construct, or wicker-bound nature spirit in a TTRPG campaign
- Are searching for a distinctive gift for a miniature painter or D&D dungeon master
Encounter Hook:
The village elder swears the fields have been protected by the Harvest Warden for generations — but this year, the offerings weren't made on time. Now something is moving through the corn at night, and the tracks it leaves look disturbingly like bound bundles of sticks pressed into the mud. The party has until dawn to figure out how you appease a Wickerman Golem that's already decided it's hungry.
