Description
The village square falls quiet — and every eye drifts to the old stone well, where the rope hangs slack and something beneath the water catches the torchlight.
- ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
- ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
- ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama
This beautifully sculpted well brings an immediate sense of place to any encounter. The stonework basin is mortared in uneven blocks, sitting on a cracked cobblestone base that suggests years of foot traffic. Above it, a timber-framed roof with planked shingles gives it real architectural character — this isn't a prop, it's a landmark. A hand-cranked winch winds the rope, and you can practically hear the creak of it as a nervous village guard leans over the edge.
Whether it's the centrepiece of a tense town square standoff, a waypoint on the road between dungeons, or a cursed focal point in a Ravenloft-style mystery, this well earns its place on the table. It also makes a compelling display piece for collectors who like their terrain shelf to tell a story.
Brilliant for adventurers who:
- Run village, town, or wilderness encounters and want grounded, readable terrain
- Need a scenic focal point that gives players something to interact with
- Are building a diorama or display scene with a rural or pastoral theme
- Want terrain that photographs beautifully primed or fully painted
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking the missing children for three days. When they finally reach the village of Ashfen, the locals are gathered around the well in silence — a child's shoe tied to the rope, dangling just above the waterline. Nobody will say who put it there.
Scaled to 32mm. A plain black base option is available at checkout and comes unattached — a small amount of glue will fix it in place. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor surface marks are possible and easily tidied up ahead of painting.
