The Water Brute — sometimes called a Myrmidon — is no mere water elemental. This sculpt captures something rawer and more dangerous: a hulking mass of aquatic muscle and barely-contained elemental rage, wide-shouldered and low-set, with curling taloned limbs, a broad horned skull, and a body that seems to churn and roil even standing still. This is the thing that lurks beneath the surface of the sacred pool, the guardian that the deep temples forgot to warn you about.
For Dungeon Masters, this miniature brings serious physical presence to any encounter involving elemental planes, corrupted water shrines, flooded dungeons, or coastal threats. It reads clearly at the table — unmistakably monstrous, unmistakably powerful — and holds enough sculpted detail to reward a careful paint job with washes and wet blending across all those layered, shifting surfaces.
For adventurers who:
- Run elemental-themed encounters or planar campaigns
- Need a distinctive boss monster for a flooded dungeon or corrupted shrine
- Enjoy painting creatures with complex organic texture and deep recesses
- Want a large, commanding display piece that holds attention on any shelf
Encounter Hook:
The party descends into the drowned vaults of a sunken coastal temple, torches guttering in the damp air — and finds the ancient ward still active. Something massive shifts in the black water ahead, horns breaching the surface, clawed hands gripping the stone. The cult didn't abandon this place. They were driven out.
