Watchman 04 is the fourth sculpt in Novaminis' city watch series, and this variant captures a guardsman in full sprint — one leg raised mid-stride, cloak billowing behind him, and his expression twisted into a wide-mouthed shout. Whether he's raising the alarm, giving chase, or arriving late to a scuffle he didn't start, the energy in this sculpt is unmistakable.
His gear reads exactly as it should for a working town guard: a studded leather jerkin with riveted detailing across the chest and waist, a wide-brimmed pot helmet tilted back on his head, fingerless gloves, mismatched boots, and a short sword hanging at his hip in a belted scabbard. There's a roughness to him — this is a man who's been doing this job long enough to stop being surprised by anything, but not long enough to stop reacting.
The sculpt is full of expressive character detail: a grimacing, open-mouthed face with exaggerated features in Novaminis' distinctive style, thick arms reaching out mid-run, and a cape caught in the wind behind him. He reads instantly from across the table, which is exactly what you want from a recurring NPC.
This is variation 04 in the Watchman range — each sculpt in the series offers a different pose and attitude, making it straightforward to field a patrol group with natural variety rather than identical copies.
A great choice for adventurers who:
- Run urban campaigns and need city guard miniatures with real personality
- Want a watchman NPC who reads clearly as reacting to something — a shout, a chase, an alarm
- Are building out a city watch encounter group using multiple Novaminis Watchman variants
- Enjoy painting expressive character faces with exaggerated, caricature-style features
- Collect fantasy town militia miniatures for display or diorama use
Encounter Hook: The party has just slipped out of the merchant quarter with something they probably shouldn't have. Three blocks away, Watchman Corvan — notorious for his loud mouth and his even louder sprint — rounds the corner, shouting for backup. He hasn't drawn his sword yet. He doesn't need to. Half the district can hear him coming.
