This is Watchman 02 from Novaminis — a second variation in their city watch series, and one that captures a very specific moment of tense authority. Where Watchman 01 might be at ease, this fellow is anything but: his right hand is raised palm-out in a firm halt gesture, his body is half-turned, and his left hand hovers near the chained weapon at his hip. The expression is one of wide-eyed alarm edging toward action — a man who has issued his warning and is already deciding what comes next.

He's dressed in studded leather armour with a broad belt and layered pauldrons, a long cape sweeping behind him. The wide-brimmed iron cap and heavy boots mark him as a working enforcer of the city, not a soldier — this is someone who patrols cobblestoned markets and fog-lit alleyways, not battlefields. The chained flail or weighted weapon at his side is a watchman's tool: close-quarters, practical, and intimidating in the right hands.

The sculpt has strong all-round detail, with good texture across the studded armour, the stitched leather breeches, and the flowing cape — giving painters plenty to work with across large and small surface areas alike. As a standalone NPC he brings immediate narrative energy to any urban scene, and as part of a growing watch detachment alongside other Novaminis sculpts, he helps build out a credible city presence at the table.

This miniature suits adventurers who:

• Run city-based campaigns with active law enforcement factions
• Need NPCs that feel like characters, not props
• Want a watchman figure with energy and narrative tension built into the pose
• Are building out a town guard or city militia warband
• Enjoy painting expressive faces and layered cloth-and-leather combinations

Encounter Hook: The party has just slipped out of a back-alley meeting with a known fence when they hear boots on cobblestones behind them. One watchman steps into the lamplight ahead, hand raised — "That's far enough." His eyes are wide. He's not alone, and he's clearly been warned they were coming.
