Watchman 01 by Novaminis

He's walked these streets longer than most of your party has been alive — and his hand on that baton says he's not in the mood for explanations.

This is Watchman 01 — the first pose in Novaminis' city watch range, and he wears every year of his service on his face. Broad-shouldered and heavyset, he strides forward with purpose, a truncheon gripped loosely at his side and one thick hand reaching out as if to stop someone mid-step. His expression under that wide-brimmed iron helmet is the look of a man who has heard every excuse and believes none of them.

The sculpt is rich with practical detail: riveted studded leather armour over a long coat that billows behind him, heavy boots built for cobblestones, belt pouches and tool loops that speak to years on the beat. The beard is full and unkempt — a man too busy keeping order to worry about his own appearance. This is a watchman who has earned his authority the hard way, not one who inherited a uniform.

This variation (01) depicts him mid-stride with a commanding, outstretched gesture — a natural fit as a patrol officer, street enforcer, or the guard captain the party really didn't want to run into tonight. Pair with other watchmen from the range to build out a full city watch patrol.

This mini works brilliantly for adventurers who:

• Run urban campaigns with city politics, guild intrigue, or watch corruption
• Need a gruff, experienced NPC guard to challenge the party at a checkpoint or crime scene
• Want a lived-in, characterful human fighter or fighter-adjacent PC sculpt
• Are building out a town watch, mercenary company, or city faction
• Enjoy painting expressive, heavily detailed human faces and weathered equipment

Encounter Hook: The party is caught red-handed near the scene of a merchant's murder. Watchman Aldric Crane — twenty years on the beat, sharper than he looks — arrives before they can slip away. He's already noted the blood on the rogue's boot. He wants answers. So do the party. The question is whether they can convince him they're on the same side before his backup arrives.
