Description

They say the Waergan Warbards sing their war-hymns with jaws wide open — not for beauty, but to let the enemy hear the teeth.

  • ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
  • ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions

This is a display bust of a Waergan Warbard: a fearsome lizard-folk warrior-singer whose open maw, swept-back crest, and layered scale-hide tell the story of a creature built for both battle and ceremony. The sculpt captures the beast mid-roar or mid-chant — it's difficult to say which, and that ambiguity is part of the menace. A tangle of bone-tip fetishes and coiled rope binds across the chest, while a broad scale-plated pauldron rises at the shoulder, adorned with a horn-tipped claw bound in cord. The surface is alive with overlapping feather and scale textures that reward careful painting, from the ridged brow to the ribbed throat and the finely knotted cordage beneath.

The bust sits on an ornately carved square plinth decorated with interlocking knotwork — a framing device that elevates it from a mere model to a centrepiece. As a display piece, this is a painter's canvas as much as a collector's trophy. Whether you run lizardfolk tribes in the swamps of a homebrew campaign or simply appreciate a sculpt with genuine character, the Waergan Warbard demands shelf space.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Want a substantial display bust with exceptional surface texture for painting projects
  • Are building a fantasy creature or beast-folk collection
  • Need visual inspiration for a lizardfolk chieftain, warbard NPC, or tribal faction boss
  • Enjoy sculpts with lore baked into every surface detail

Encounter Hook:
The party has tracked the missing villagers to the edge of the Thornfens — and there, atop a bone-strewn dais, a Waergan Warbard opens its jaws and begins to sing. The surrounding warriors drop their weapons and sway. The party realises, too late, that the song isn't for them — it's a ritual, and the villagers are the offering.
