Vorthakar, Keeper of the Accursed Tome is a wraith-like undead entity unlike any common skeleton or lich you've placed on the table before. His upper body is gaunt and skeletal — exposed ribs wrapped in heavy chains, a crown of jagged bone spines rising from his skull — while his lower form dissolves into a spectral, billowing shroud that coils at its base like a serpent mid-strike. In one skeletal hand he clutches an enormous grimoire, its pages visibly dripping with eldritch corruption; in the other, a macabre censer or reliquary dangles from a chain of finger bones. A small skull rests at his shoulder like a dark familiar, and the entire silhouette radiates the quiet menace of something ancient and deliberately patient.
The sculpt captures extraordinary detail throughout — from the articulated finger bones of his trailing arm to the texture of decaying robes and the corroded fittings of the tome's binding. Whether you're painting him as a one-of-a-kind boss monster or displaying him as a showpiece, Vorthakar commands attention from every angle. Printed at 35mm scale, he carries genuine presence over surrounding 32mm figures, reinforcing his status as something far beyond a common undead thrall.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Need a compelling undead boss or lich-like villain for a necromantic campaign arc
- Are building an ancient library, forbidden archive, or cursed vault encounter
- Want a display piece that showcases exceptional undead character sculpting
- Are looking for an imposing NPC to anchor a Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or dark fantasy setting
Encounter Hook:
The party has finally reached the Vault of Unwritten Names, seeking a spell that could unmake the necromancer's phylactery — only to find Vorthakar already waiting, the tome open to exactly the page they need, his hollow eye sockets fixed on them with something that might be recognition. He does not attack. He speaks. And what he offers is far more dangerous than combat.
Vorthakar is printed at 35mm scale — slightly larger than standard 32mm, which suits his role as a boss or centrepiece figure. If you'd prefer 32mm scaling, send us a message and we'll be happy to discuss adjustments. A decorative base option is available; if selected, please send a note specifying which of the three base styles you'd like. The base arrives separate and attaches easily. Support marks are removed during finishing, though minor imperfections inherent to the printing process may occasionally remain — these are easily tidied up before painting.
