The Vortex Harbinger is a figure of terrible elegance: a humanoid form ringed by two massive, scale-armoured serpentine appendages that curl outward from her back like the arms of something older than the cosmos. Her crown of bone-white horns reaches skyward in jagged, organic spires, and her gaze carries the cold certainty of a being that has witnessed the dissolution of worlds. She is not a demon in the conventional sense — she is something that sits behind demonkind, something they answer to. Part marilith, part elder god, wholly unsettling.
For Dungeon Masters, she works beautifully as a BBEG pulling strings from beyond the material plane — a cult's object of worship made suddenly, terribly manifest. For collectors, the silhouette alone earns a place of prominence on any display shelf. The coiling tails frame her figure in a near-circular composition, and the detail on the scale texture and her serpentine limb-tips rewards close painting work with exceptional results.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a commanding abyssal boss or elder fiend for their D&D 5e campaign
- Are building a cult, corrupted temple, or planar incursion encounter arc
- Want a large-scale centrepiece miniature for their display collection
- Are looking for a serpentine, lovecraftian-adjacent creature with real visual presence
Encounter Hook:
The party has spent three sessions dismantling a coastal cult that worshipped something they called the Vortex — dismissing it as superstition. Then the harbour drains in seconds, the sky turns the colour of a bruise, and she rises from the empty seabed, flanked by two dragon-headed serpent limbs that smash the dockside warehouses flat. The cult wasn't worshipping a myth. They were keeping her patient.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The plain round base is included separately and attaches easily. Minis arrive with supports removed and fully cured, ready for priming and painting or display as-is. As with all hand-finished pieces, minor surface marks may occasionally be present — these are easily tidied with a fine file or sandpaper.
