The Vine Blight is one of fantasy's most unsettling threats — not a beast of fang and claw, but something patient, purposeful, and deeply wrong. This sculpt by Monster Atlas captures that wrongness with exceptional craft: a vaguely humanoid form wrapped in writhing, rope-thick tendrils that trail and curl like a living shroud. The face is flat, featureless save for hollow, sunken eyes, and the body is textured with the bark-like grain of ancient, corrupted wood. Arms hang heavy with flowing vine growth, and the overall silhouette communicates the Vine Blight's core horror — it looks almost like a person, and it very much is not.
Whether you're running a corrupted druid's grove, a Feywild encounter gone sideways, or a village whose orchards have started fighting back, this miniature earns its place at the table. It works equally well as a display piece for collectors drawn to the darker side of fey creature design.
A natural fit for adventurers who:
- Run encounters in haunted woodlands, corrupted groves, or the Feywild
- Need a visually distinct Plant or Fey creature for D&D 5e or other TTRPG systems
- Are building a Blights encounter set alongside Needle and Twig Blights
- Collect and paint creatures from the darker corners of fantasy lore
- Want a display piece that holds its own off the table as well as on it
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to find a missing herbalist. They track her to a clearing where her journal lies open in the mud — her last entry simply reads: "The plants know I'm here." Four Vine Blights emerge from the treeline. One is wearing her satchel.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are separate pieces — a small amount of superglue will secure them. The base is designed to complement the sculpt, and some models interact with their base in ways that make them best displayed together. Suitable for priming and painting straight away, or use unpainted for immediate play.
