Description
When the monster reached the village, not everyone made it out — and the ones who tried to fight back are the ones your adventurers will remember longest.
- ✔ Multi-miniature bundle — multiple variations in one order
- ✔ 32mm scale resin, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ All pieces supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Great value for building out encounter groups or display collections
This bundle brings together four poses of the same ordinary villager caught in an extraordinary moment. Dressed in a simple cross-stitched tunic and work boots, he is every unnamed soul who grabs a hatchet or a spade and stands between the darkness and their home — knowing full well they probably shouldn't. The four poses tell a story across the table: one man steeling himself, hand over his mouth, hatchet lowered; one striding forward with his tool raised in open defiance; one breaking into a desperate run, sack slung over his shoulder; and one collapsed flat on the ground, the fight already over.
Sculpted with Novaminis' characteristic expressiveness, each pose communicates a clear emotional beat — hesitation, aggression, panic, defeat — making this bundle enormously useful for Dungeon Masters who want their encounters to feel lived-in and human. These are not heroes. They are bakers, farmers, and woodcutters who didn't have a choice. That distinction is exactly what makes them compelling on the table.
Equally suited to gaming sessions and display shelves, the fallen pose in particular works beautifully as a casualty marker or a diorama centrepiece, while the active poses populate village defence encounters with immediate narrative weight.
Well suited to adventurers who:
- Run village raids, siege scenarios, or monster attack encounters
- Need civilian NPCs with genuine personality and distinct body language
- Want casualty or downed-character markers that carry emotional resonance
- Are building a settlement diorama or a gothic horror scene
- Play through Ravenloft, Curse of Strahd, or any horror-adjacent campaign
Encounter Hook: The party arrives at Millhaven at dawn to find three men standing at the edge of the smouldering market square — one frozen in place, one advancing on something the adventurers can't yet see, one sprinting past them without a word. In the middle of the square, a fourth lies still. The creature responsible is still here. And it hasn't finished.
