Scabbers is the third variation in DM Stash's Vermin Grunt series, and this sculpt wastes no time making an impression. Posed mid-stride in a low, aggressive charge, this heavily-armed ratfolk warrior radiates the frantic, cornered-animal energy that makes wererat encounters so genuinely unsettling at the table. The open, fang-baring jaw is caught mid-screech — all rage and survival instinct — while the eyes are narrowed with feral focus.

The level of armour detail here is exceptional. A full chainmail coif and cape drape heavily across the shoulders, layered over strapped leather armour on the legs and torso. Bone spikes and scavenged blades are lashed to the body with rope and cord — including a long dagger clutched in the right hand, a crossbow thrust forward in the left, and additional blades tied across the chest. A long rat's tail sweeps dramatically behind the figure, grounding the pose on a rubble-scattered base that suggests a crumbling sewer or Underdark passage.

The fur texturing across the torso and arms is rendered with real care — short, dense fur gives way to the chainmail at the neck without losing sculptural clarity. This is a figure that will reward a painter's attention, whether you're working up the matted fur in oils or picking out the individual rings of the mail in metallic drybrushing.
