  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Veila Nocteris is a figure that commands attention the moment she hits the table. Crowned with a jagged, flame-like iron diadem, she carries herself with the cold authority of someone who has already won — she's simply waiting for you to realise it. In one hand she holds a wicked dagger, drawn and ready; in the other, a tall staff crowned with a sun-and-crescent motif, a single eye-like gem at its centre, and a grinning skull lashed to its shaft. The contrast between solar iconography and death imagery speaks to a character who has corrupted something sacred — a fallen cleric, a necromancer who once served the light, or a warlock whose patron wears many faces.

The sculpt is richly detailed throughout. Her robes flow naturally with movement, the rear of the figure revealing a small satchel at her belt and the full dramatic sweep of her skirts. The staff's reverse side shows the sun disc in full, a crescent moon overlapping it and a central orb suggesting an eye or a scrying focus. Every angle of this miniature rewards close inspection — and that makes her a joy for painters who want a centrepiece character with genuine depth.

Note that this miniature is printed at 35mm scale, giving her a slightly more commanding presence than standard 32mm figures — well-suited to a character who should dominate the room.

A fine choice for adventurers who:

  • Need a memorable BBEG sorceress, lich-queen, or fallen cleric for their campaign
  • Are building a warlock, wizard, or necromancer player character with a villainous edge
  • Want a dual-wielding spellcaster figure that works equally well as an NPC antagonist
  • Are looking for a display-quality painting project with strong silhouette and surface detail
  • Run Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or any campaign where dark magic and corrupted faith collide

Encounter Hook

The party has tracked the Cult of the Sunken Eye to a ruined temple on the edge of the Shadowfell rift. Inside, standing before the altar where the sun god's statue has been replaced with a crowned skull, is Veila Nocteris — who smiles when she sees them, as though she has been expecting them. She has. The negotiations begin and end with the tip of her dagger against the throat of someone the party thought was safely back in town.
