Vassal of Torsus by Witchsong Miniatures
Description
Bound to a primordial master whose name is carved into every scale of its armour, the Vassal of Torsus does not negotiate — it simply arrives, and things break.
- ✔ Display-scale miniature — larger than standard 32mm gaming scale
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Equally suited to display shelves and the gaming table
This is a genuinely imposing centrepiece miniature. The Vassal is a massive, hunched reptilian brute — broad-shouldered and armoured in segmented, ringed plate that looks as though it grew from the creature itself rather than being forged. Seven spiralling horns crown its back like a war altar, and it carries an enormous crescent-bladed weapon etched with runic scrollwork. Its wide, fang-lined maw is open in a snarl, and one clawed hand is raised as if mid-lunge. The sculpt is packed with texture: overlapping scales, rope-bound joints, and a base covered in ancient carved glyphs that suggest this creature is as much a ritual weapon as a living thing.
At 80mm base scale, the Vassal of Torsus sits well above standard 32mm miniatures — deliberately so. This is a boss encounter sculpt, sized to dominate the table and signal to your players that things are about to get significantly worse. It works equally well as a display piece, and the depth of detail rewards careful painting.
Splendid for adventurers who:
- Need a memorable BBEG or boss encounter creature for a campaign climax
- Want a large-scale display miniature worth dedicating real painting time to
- Are running a lizardfolk, yuan-ti, or primordial-themed campaign arc
- Love heavily armoured, lore-rich monster sculpts that tell a story on the shelf
Encounter Hook:
The party has tracked the cult's movements for three sessions. They expect a ritual — candles, robes, perhaps a summoning circle. What greets them when they descend into the sanctum is the Vassal, already waiting in the dark, its runic armour faintly glowing, its master's name carved into the floor around its feet. The ritual isn't starting. It already finished.
Details
What's included: The Vassal of Torsus is printed at 80mm base scale — larger than standard 32mm by design, to suit boss and display use. The base is included detached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. The model arrives support-removed and fully cured, ready for priming and painting or display straight away. Minor surface marks from the printing process can occasionally occur; these are easily tidied up before painting.
