Malric Veynar is a figure who carries his conviction like a weapon. From Primal Collectibles' Legacy of Blood range, this large-format display bust captures the hunter at a moment of grim composure — long hair caught mid-drift by a cold night wind, a carved heraldic emblem pressed into his coat, his gauntleted fist gripping a heavy scythe-headed staff at his side. The face is remarkable in its stillness: eyes closed, jaw set, a man who has looked upon the worst the night has to offer and simply decided it isn't enough to stop him.
The sculpt rewards painters generously. The flowing cape — textured with subtle creasing across its full sweep — offers wide open panels for blending and source lighting work. The hair has strand-level definition that will take a wash beautifully, and the embossed chest crest gives painters a focal point to really go to town on with fine detailing. Viewed from behind, the dramatic billow of the cape dominates, giving the piece a real sense of forward momentum even in stillness.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Paint gothic, horror, or dark fantasy busts and want a centrepiece display project
- Are building a vampire hunter or Ravenloft-themed collection
- Need a striking visual anchor for a Legacy of Blood or gothic RPG campaign
- Want a memorable villain, patron, or haunted NPC to inspire their next session
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the village of Velmoor to find it already under the protection of a lone hunter — Malric Veynar, standing at the crossroads with his staff planted in the earth and his eyes closed, listening. He does not acknowledge the players at first. When he finally speaks, it is only to say: "Four of you. That may be enough." He already knows the count of the castle's undead. He has not yet decided whether to share it.
