The Vampire Blood Sorcerer is a figure of contained menace. His stance is wide and grounded — feet planted, cape billowing out behind him — whilst both arms are raised with open, grasping hands, as though drawing the very essence of the air into his command. A single great tendril of eldritch energy spirals upward from the space between his hands, terminating in a roiling cloud of shadow magic above his head. It is a pose that communicates absolute authority over forces most mortals would flee from.
His silhouette tells the whole story: long flowing coat and billowing floor-length cloak give him the bearing of a Ravenloft noble, whilst his long hair and neatly kept beard hint at centuries of careful grooming — the vanity of a creature who has had a very long time to cultivate an image. The coiling magical effect wraps around and through his legs, rooting him to his base whilst simultaneously suggesting he is barely keeping it in check.
This sculpt works equally well as a recurring villain — a vampire lord who has bent blood magic to his own twisted ends — or as a player character sorcerer drawing on a dark and forbidden font of power. Painted in deep crimsons and midnight blues, he would command the eye on any table or display shelf.
Adventurers who will love this miniature:
- Dungeon Masters building a Ravenloft or gothic horror campaign who need a vampire BBEG with genuine presence
- Players running a Sorcerer or Warlock with a dark, vampiric origin or bloodline
- Painters drawn to the challenge of OSL on the spiralling magical tendrils
- Collectors who appreciate dramatic arcane poses with strong character design
Encounter Hook: The party has tracked the source of the village's wasting sickness to the old count's mausoleum. Inside, surrounded by a constellation of floating blood-drops drawn from his victims, the Vampire Blood Sorcerer stands mid-ritual — coiling tendrils of stolen life force spiralling upward as he completes the rite that will sustain him for another century. He notices the party. He smiles. He does not stop casting.
