- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
From Primal Collectibles' Tales of Kreyvos setting comes Astrid — a Valkyrie caught in the exact moment fury overtakes discipline. The sculpt captures her from the waist up: sword thrust forward in a two-handed grip, gauntleted fists tight around the hilt, her expression a full-throated battle roar that leaves no ambiguity about her intentions. The face is extraordinarily expressive — bared teeth, furrowed brow, eyes wild beneath the brim of her winged helm — the kind of detail that rewards careful brushwork with oils or layered washes.
The winged helm itself is a painter's gift: clean geometric panelling on the skull, swept wings rising from each temple, and short upswept horns framing the crown. Her armour is angular and deliberate — pauldrons, bracers, and a segmented belt with hanging faulds — contrasted beautifully by the enormous feathered cloak that billows behind her. The rear view of the bust is almost as dramatic as the front: that cloak erupts outward in a cascade of individually sculpted feathers and long streaming hair, giving the piece real three-dimensional presence from every angle.
The circular pedestal base is textured stone with a studded rim — solid, broad, and purpose-built to anchor a piece of this scale on any display shelf. Whether you're drawn to the Norse divine warrior archetype, running a campaign where Valkyries serve as divine arbiters of fate, or simply want a centrepiece sculpt that demands attention on a painting desk, Astrid delivers the brief.
Particularly well suited for adventurers who:
- Want a centrepiece bust for a Norse or Viking-themed display collection
- Are building encounters around divine warriors, celestial champions, or battlefield arbiters
- Need a striking NPC — a Valkyrie envoy, a war goddess avatar, or a divine herald of doom
- Love expressive facial sculpts that reward portrait-level painting techniques
- Are drawn to the Tales of Kreyvos setting and its richly detailed character range
Encounter Hook: The party has been tasked with retrieving the soul-standard of a fallen jarl from the battlefield of Vörungard — but when they arrive, Astrid is already there, blade drawn, unwilling to let mortal hands disturb the dead before the gods have made their judgement. She is not hostile. Not yet. The party has until she finishes her count of the fallen to convince her otherwise.
