The Ballerina Caster is one of the most distinctive monster sculpts in Great Grimoire's catalogue. Part jellyfish, part something far older and more deliberate, this creature moves with the eerie, flowing grace of a deep-sea predator wearing a ballgown. Layered ruffled frills billow outward from a skeletal, corseted torso, while a vast, bulbous cap — ridged and coiled like a storm frozen mid-billow — crowns a face that suggests intelligence and malice in equal measure. Clawed hands reach outward from beneath trailing veil-like tendrils, mid-cast, mid-lunge, mid-dance. Whatever this thing is doing, it is doing it with terrible intention.
This sculpt rewards careful painting — the layered ruffles invite wet blending and glazing, the cap's organic texture catches dry-brushing beautifully, and the translucent quality of the trailing fabric pieces practically begs for OSL or bioluminescent effects. Whether stationed in a sunken dungeon, rising from a harbour at midnight, or manifesting as the avatar of a Deep One cult, this creature commands a scene. Two pose variants are available in this range, both sharing the same fluid, theatrical energy.
Well-suited to adventurers who:
- Need a boss monster or major threat for an underwater or coastal campaign arc
- Want a spellcasting aberration or deep-sea horror to unsettle their players
- Are building display pieces that showcase advanced painting techniques
- Run settings inspired by the deep ocean, the Sunken City, or Lovecraftian horror
Encounter Hook:
The fishing village of Craghallow has been silent for three days. When the party rows into the fog-filled harbour, they find nets hanging empty, doors swinging open — and at the end of the pier, a figure like a woman in an enormous gown, slowly turning, tendrils trailing across the water. It raises one clawed hand. The tide stops moving entirely.

What's included:
This listing is for the Ballerina Caster miniature, printed at 35mm scale. If you would prefer 32mm scaling, please send us a message and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Three decorative ocean-themed bases are available as an optional add-on: a coral reef scene, a sandy beach with skull and starfish, and a sunken anchor scene — please note your preferred base in your order. All base options are supplied separate from the miniature and attach easily. A plain black base is included as standard if no decorative base is selected. Supports are removed before dispatch; minor surface marks from the printing process may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up before priming.
