This is Skeleton Villager 08 from Novaminis, the eighth pose in their characterful range of undead commoners. What sets this sculpt apart is its quietly unsettling rural identity — the skeleton clutches a rope-wrapped pitchfork with agricultural menace, its tattered robes hanging from bare bones in ragged folds. One arm is raised with an eerie, almost purposeful tension, as though mid-command or mid-lurch. This is not a generic dungeon guard; this is someone's murdered neighbour, risen to serve a darker master.
The sculpt carries exceptional bone detail across the ribcage, spine, and hands, with the rope binding on the pitchfork handle adding a lived-in, handcrafted feel that suggests this was a working tool long before it became a weapon of the undead. The flowing robe grounds the figure and gives it mass, making it feel imposing despite its skeletal frame. Equally at home on the gaming table or on a display shelf, this mini rewards painters who want to explore contrast between bleached bone, weathered cloth, and rusted iron.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Are running a necromancy arc, cursed village, or plague-ravaged settlement encounter
- Want undead minis with genuine character rather than interchangeable warrior poses
- Are building a mob of risen commoners to swarm the party in a memorable set piece
- Collect and paint undead miniatures for display or diorama use
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives in Millhaven at dusk to find the harvest untended and the village silent. As they reach the inn, the barn doors creak open — and a dozen skeletal farmhands shuffle out, pitchforks raised, led by the hollow-eyed figure of the miller himself. Someone has raised the whole village. The question is: who, and are they still here?
