This is pose 03 of the Skeleton Villager range by Novaminis — and it's one of the most characterful undead sculpts we carry. This skeletal farmer strides forward with grim purpose, one bony hand pointing accusingly ahead while the other drags a heavy wooden rake fitted with vicious iron tines. A wide-brimmed hat sits atop his grinning skull, a length of rope coiled around his ribcage, and his leather boots still cling to feet long stripped of flesh. There's something deeply unsettling about undead who look like they were mid-task when the necromancer called — and this one absolutely was.

For Dungeon Masters, he works brilliantly as a reanimated farm labourer, a cursed villager risen from a blighted harvest town, or one of many shambling defenders protecting a dark druid's fields. For collectors, the detail in the rope work, the sculpted hat brim, and those articulated bony fingers make him a genuinely rewarding mini to paint — try a bleached bone basecoat with earthy washes on the hat and boots to bring his tragic backstory to life on the tabletop.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Are building undead encounters beyond the standard skeleton warrior
  • Want NPC variety for a cursed village, haunted farmstead, or necromancer's domain
  • Enjoy painting characterful sculpts with strong narrative detail
  • Are collecting the full Skeleton Villager range from Novaminis

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the village of Thornwick to find the fields still tended — furrows freshly turned, scarecrows upright — but not a living soul in sight. As dusk falls and the mist rolls in off the river, the farm workers emerge from the barn one by one, wide-brimmed hats and vacant sockets, rakes raised. Someone made a very bad deal with something very old, and now the harvest never ends.
